Rev. Price E. King was born in Athens, Alabama, in the late 1930s. In the 1960s, he and his wife Louetta moved to Louisville so that he could attend Simmons Bible College. He became the pastor of St. Elizabeth United Primitive Baptist Church in 1974 and went on to serve for over forty years. At one point he served as president of the Louisville Quartet Union. He was a sales manager at Bob Smith Chevrolet, and he owned a dry cleaning business that had two locations.
Rev. King sang at times with long-standing Louisville quartets The Solomonaires and The Golden Crowns before recording two subsequent solo albums with Randy's Spiritual Records, All My Troubles Will Be Over and Jesus Is A Rock, the latter backed by the Soul Seekers, a group founded and managed by his wife Louetta King.
