Move These Things

The Religious Five Quartet was organized in 1937 in the home of C.W. Sharpe, with Herman Hughes acting as the group’s manager. As members of the group enlisted in World War II and Hughes moved out of state, Sharpe took over as manager, a role he held until his passing in 1985. A self-taught guitarist with a unique approach and sound, Sharpe served as a mentor to many notable singers and preachers who came through the group over the decades. The Religious Five remains active today, managed by C.W. Sharpe's daughter Linda Sharpe with assistant manager James Hudson.
