Rev. Nathaniel "Peewee" Brown II photos

Notes

Rev. Nathaniel "Peewee" Brown (1961 - 2025) was the longtime manager of The New Golden Crowns and a beloved member of Louisville's quartet community. At a young age - around ten years old - he began playing drums for The Religious Five. As a boy, he played drums and bass on numerous recordings by various quartets that Bro. Joe Thomas made at his B-J Sounds Studio. Before his long tenure with the New Golden Crowns, he was a member of Archie Dale and The Tones of Joy. He was widely regarded as one of Louisville's most talented bassists. (Photo courtesy of Rev. Kennard Bush, who provides the following caption: "Peewee Brown doing his thing with the late J R Vance and Tony Thorn.")
