God's Girls were formed in 1975 by manager Janice Dukes and original members Delores Crutcher, Jeanie Pickett Rochell, and Rolinda Bentley. Dukes had previously been a member of the legendary Carnation Quintette. Crutcher had been a member of The Gospel Majors. Rochell was Wilson Pickett's sister. By the time they recorded their 1980 LP Singing the Gospel, the lineup was Janice Dukes, her daughter Arnita Dukes, Jeanie Pickett Rochell, and Dena Williams. Backing musicians included Peewee Bentley, Frank Bentley Jr., and Jerome Bentley, formerly of The Junior Dynamics. God's Girls are active to this day, managed by Arnita Dukes.
