Take Your Burdens to the Lord / Time Is Winding Up

Rev. Cornelius James was born in Orville, Alabama, in 1932. In November 1955, he moved to Louisville to pastor New Zion Church of God. He and Elizabeth James had six daughters: Gladey, Bernie, Gean, Elizabeth, Lucy, and Angelina. Together with their children, they formed The James Singers. By 1968, The James Singers were performing all over the world, and they continue to sing to this day. “Time Is Winding Up” was recorded for Joe Thomas’ label BJ Sounds before they were called The James Singers.
