The McCollom Singers were a family group from the Newburg area initially founded by Rev. Marcus and Helen McCollom in 1957. At the time their lone 45 was recorded, Rev. Marcus McCollom was the pastor of Greater Faith Baptist Church. His daughters, Leola Hepburn, Karen McCollom, and Lorraye McCollom, are the featured singers, accompanied by Collette Webster on piano, Benny Williams on organ, and Andrew Williams on drums.
